Always In the Last Place You Look

A man in a small boat approaches another man thrashing in the ocean.
“Are you alright my friend? Do you need some help?”
“I am safe”, said the man. “Only I cannot find what I’m looking for. I’ve been searching for days and it seems to be nowhere!”
The man in the boat felt a pinch in his heart for the man in the water, “What is it you’re looking for?” Asked the man.
“To be dry.” Said the man in the ocean.
The man in the boat roared with laughter, “Well that’s just about the only thing you can’t find in the ocean! Why don’t you turn around and go stand on the shore, it’s only a few feet behind you.”
The man in the water looked into the eyes of the man on the boat, “Why then do you look for happiness outside of you? That is just about the only thing you cannot find there. Why don’t you turn around and go stand on the shore, it’s only one step within you.
